After taking a puck to the face in during Wednesday's game, Vancouver Canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko will not play Thursday against the Calgary Flames, according to Rick Dhaliwal of Chek News.
Kuzmenko had to be helped off the ice after taking a J.T. Miller slapshot to the face in the second period, and did not return.
After the game, the Russian provided an update on social media. "Thank you for the support, everything is fine."
He added that the Canucks' 4-3 overtime victory over the New York Islanders was a "good win."
Tocchet told reporters after the game that Kuzmenko would likely go to the hospital for further evaluation.
In a corresponding move, the Canucks have called up Linus Karlsson from AHL Abbotsford and sent defenceman Akito Hirose back down.
Kuzmenko, 27, had an assist in that game which brings his season total to 14 points in 16 games. In his first year in the NHL, he had a breakout campaign that saw him score 39 goals and 74 points in 81 games.
