Logan Cooley, the Arizona Coyotes' third-overall pick from 2022, is having second thoughts about returning to school for the coming season, according to a report by Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.
At the end of May, Cooley said that the Coyotes' failed bid to build a new arena in Tempe had influenced his decision to return to University of Minnesota for another season.
Now, in a report confirmed by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the chances of the 19-year-old signing to play in the NHL this season are trending upward.
Cooley, who was born in Pittsburgh, is coming off a 60-point freshman season with the University of Minnesota that saw the Golden Gophers advance all the way to the National Championship final.
