The Ottawa Senators have issued qualifying offers to five of their restricted free agents, the team announced Sunday.
Goaltenders Kevin Mandolese and Mads Sogaard, forwards Shane Pinto and Egor Sokolov and defenceman Lassi Thompson all received offers from the team.
Pinto, 23, was banned for half of last season after an investigation found he violated the league's sports gambling policy. He returned to the team in January and scored nine goals and dished out 18 assists in 41 games.
One of the players the Senators did not extend a qualifying offer to is defenceman Erik Brannstrom, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent.
The 24-year-old defenceman was acquired by Ottawa in the trade that sent Mark Stone to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019.
Brannstrom was Vegas' first-round pick in 2017 and made his debut with the Senators in 2018-19. Since his debut, the five-foot-10 defender has played in parts of six seasons in Ottawa.
He had a career-best season in 2023-24, scoring three goals and picking up 17 assists over 76 games with a plus-five rating.
