Wild sign goaltender Cam Talbot to three-year deal

Cam Talbot calls into Hockey Central to talk about signing with the Minnesota Wild and goes over the factors that played a role in his decision.

The Minnesota Wild have signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a three-year, $11-million contract.

Talbot, 33, spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Flames on a one-year deal worth $2.75 million. In 26 appearances, Talbot registered a 12-10-1 record with a 2.63 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage with two shutouts – his best numbers since his second season with the Edmonton Oilers in 2016-17.

Between the shortened season and his No. 2 position on Calgary's goaltending depth chart behind David Rittich, this season also saw Talbot start the fewest games in his career since backing up Henrik Lundqvist in New York as a rookie.
