New York Rangers sign goaltender Jaroslav Halak to one-year, $1.55M deal

The New York Rangers signed veteran goalie Jaroslav Halak to a one-year deal worth $1.55 million on Wednesday.

Halak, 37, played last season with the Vancouver Canucks, posting a 2.94 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The native of Bratislava, Slovakia, has career numbers of 2.49 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in 556 NHL games with the Canadiens, Blues, Islanders, Bruins and Canucks. Three seasons ago, he posted a .919 save percentage with Boston.
