The Buffalo Sabres will be without one of their most important players for Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Top defenceman Rasmus Dahlin will be out of the lineup due to back spasms.
"It should be short term but you never know," head coach Lindy Ruff said.
The back spasms forced Dahlin to leave Tuesday's loss to the Avalanche early and he has not skated in the two days since.
Dahlin leads the Sabres with 24:42 of ice time per game and has six goals and 19 points from the blueline. He was named to Sweden's team for the 4 Nations Face-Off on Wednesday
