The Buffalo Sabres will have to find a way to beat the Colorado Avalanche with a shorthanded lineup as defenceman Owen Power suffered a lower-body injury while warming up pre-game.
As a result, Buffalo will have to dress five defencemen against Colorado with only Rasmus Dahlin, Kale Clague, Lawrence Pilut and Casey Fitzgerald available. The team has three defencemen sidelined with injuries with Ilya Lyubushkin, Henri Jokiharju and Jacob Bryson unable to play.
In his first full season in the NHL, Power has 10 assists in 29 games while averaging 23:38 per game for Buffalo.
