It seems the Buffalo Sabres are going with load management for Rasmus Dahlin.
One night after returning from a seven-game injury absence, the Sabres captain was again out of the lineup on Saturday against the Boston Bruins.
After a 3-1 loss, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff told reporters that the decision to sit Dahlin was pre-planned.
The star defenceman missed the seven games before Friday because of back spasms. He played more than 27 minutes in a loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.
Dahlin has six goals and 13 assists in 26 games this season.
The Sabres are in last place in the NHL standings.
The team owns the longest playoff drought in the NHL (13 years).
