Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin was added Thursday to the Atlantic Division roster for the 2023 NHL All-Star weekend, replacing injured teammate Tage Thompson.
Thompson returned from an upper-body injury to play in Wednesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes but was forced to leave with an upper-body issue. Thompson was in visible distress on the bench before leaving the game, but head coach Don Granato did not have an update on his condition afterward.
Dahlin is among the top-scoring defencemen in the NHL, ranking second in goals (14) and points (55), and third in assists (41).
The NHL All-Star festivities begin Friday with the All-Star skills event (7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT), followed by the All-Star Game on Saturday (3 p.m. ET/noon PT). Fans can watch all the fun from Florida on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
