The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Zemgus Girgensons to a three-year contract extension, his agency confirmed Thursday.
CapFriendly.com reports the contract carries an average annual value of $2.2 million per season.
Girgensons, 26, was set to become a restricted free agent Friday and has spent his entire seven-season career with the Sabres. Last season he had 12 goals and 19 points in 69 games.
