On Monday the San Jose Sharks announced the signing of forward Alexander Barabanov to a two-year contract extension. The deal is worth $5 million over two seasons for the 27-year-old Russian.
Barabanov had 10 goals and 29 assists in 70 games this past season, his first full campaign in San Jose since being traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 12, 2021.
Barabanov, who signed as a free-agent in Toronto after playing with SKA St. Petersburg in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), has 47 points in his NHL career.
