Sean Monahan is on the move again.
Monahan and the Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to a five-year contract with an average annual value of $5.5 million.
The 29-year-old forward started the 2023-24 season with the Montreal Canadiens before he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets before the trade deadline.
In 34 games with the Jets in the regular season, he recorded 13 goals and 11 assists. He had one assist in Round 1 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs before the Jets were eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche.
Monahan spent his first nine seasons with the Calgary Flames before the team traded him to the Canadiens before the start of the 2022-23 season.
Over 764 career NHL games, the Brampton, Ont., native has 244 goals and 294 assists for 538 points.
Monahan is coming off a one-year, $2 million deal he signed with the Canadiens before last season.
