Daniel Sprong's second stint with the Seattle Kraken appears to be over.
The Amsterdam native was placed on waivers on Wednesday.
Sprong hadn't been with Kraken for long. In November, the Vancouver Canucks traded him to Seattle in exchange for future considerations.
The Kraken would have hoped to get the output Sprong, a winger, delivered when he first played for Seattle during the 2021-22 season and posted a career-best 21 goals and 46 points in only 66 appearances.
But in the 10 games played with the Kraken since re-joining the team, the 27-year-old has only recorded one goal and one assist.
In 353 career games, played between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, Kraken, Detroit Red Wings and Canucks, the six-foot forward has recorded 162 points (86-76-162) and 68 penalty minutes.
Sprong was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round, 46th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
