Winger Morgan Geekie signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Seattle Kraken, eliminating the need for the arbitration hearing the player had filed for.
Geekie, 24, was claimed by Seattle from the Carolina Hurricanes a year ago in the NHL expansion draft.
The native of Strathclair, Man., played 73 games for the Kraken last season, collecting seven goals and 15 assists.
Geekie was drafted in the third round, 67th overall, by the Hurricanes in 2017 and was coming off a three-year, entry-level contract.
