Another player, fresh off winning a Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, has found a new home.
Defenceman Josh Mahura has reportedly agreed to a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Seattle Kraken, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The former 85th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft has spent the last two years with the champion Panthers.
In the 2023-24 season, he made 30 appearances and logged nine assists for nine points, 20 penalty minutes and 40 hits. The season prior, Mahura played in all 82 regular season games for Florida, finishing with 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) to go with 48 penalty minutes and 101 hits.
Mahura, 26, spent the first four seasons of his NHL career with the Anaheim Ducks, who drafted him, before signing with the Panthers ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The St. Albert, Alta. native has played 191 games in the NHL throughout his career, recording 45 points (10 goals, 35 assists), 90 penalty minutes and 222 hits in that span.
