As if Ottawa Senators hockey fans needed more reasons to get excited about the prospect of Ryan Reynolds becoming the club's new owner, goalie Cam Talbot has a new mask being readied that sports a connection to the actor's most famous role.
Friedesigns, a company run by Calgary-based artist Dave Fried, tweeted out photos and a video of the mask he has designed for Senators goalie Cam Talbot, which is adorned with Marvel comic-book character Deadpool, whom the Vancouver-born Reynolds has portrayed in a pair of movies.
"Cam wanted a nod to @vancityReynolds character #deadpool being a Senator's (sic) fan!" the Tweet reads, tagging Talbot in the process.
"I’m biased but I think @Friedesigns nailed my new mask. But only 1 persons opinion really matters…what does the real #Deadpool think?? @VancityReynolds," Talbot added in a quote Tweet.
Reynolds later responded with a Tweet of his own, writing, "Jaques Plante would be proud as hell."
In November, the Hollywood star confirmed his interest in being involved in a Senators ownership group, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The club was recently put up for sale by the late Eugene Melnyk's daughters, Olivia and Anna.
