Ottawa Senators forward Colin White left Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers after suffering a lower-body injury during the second period.
The injury occurred about halfway through the second period. White was trying to stop behind the Senators’ net, but lost his footing and went into the boards legs first at an awkward angle.
The 24-year-old needed assistance to leave the ice, and appeared to not place any weight on his left leg as he went straight to the locker room.
White has seven goals and 13 points in 24 games with the Senators so far this season.
Later in the game, Senators forward Ryan Dzingel needed help to leave the ice after getting tangled up with Jesse Puljujarvi behind Ottawa’s net mid-way through the third period.
Dzingel has posted four goals and six points through 14 games this season.
