Ottawa Senators defenceman Erik Brannstrom will miss seven to 10 days due to an undisclosed injury, head coach D.J. Smith announced Tuesday.
It’s unclear when Brannstrom was injured as he was on the ice at the end of Monday’s 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Smith said the team is being cautious and that the injury shouldn’t be long term.
The 21-year-old has appeared in three games so far this season, collecting one assist and averaging more than 15 minutes of ice time.
Christian Wolanin will replace Brannstrom in the lineup Tuesday night against the Oilers.
