Senators extend 2019 draft pick Max Guenette with one-year deal

The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Max Guenette to a one-year, two-way extension worth $775,000, the club announced Tuesday.

Guenette, 23, posted a career high in goals (seven) during his tenure with the Belleville Senators, Ottawa’s AHL affiliate, last season while ranking second amongst the team in assists with 27.

The Quebec native has failed to register any point totals during his six career games with the NHL club following his debut on April 13, 2022, at Buffalo.

Guenette was a seventh-round draft pick by the Senators in 2019. He ranks second all-time in games (178) by a Belleville defenceman and is tied for the franchise lead in points from a defender with 93 across three seasons.
