Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg did not return to Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after being helped off the ice with a groin injury.
The injury happened late in the first period as Forsberg reached out with his leg to make a save. He was helped off the ice by teammates and replaced in net by Joonas Korpisalo.
Head coach Jacques Martin told reporters that Forsberg will undergo an MRI on Friday, after which they will have a better idea of his timeline.
Forsberg, 31, has appeared in 15 games for the Senators this season, posting a .889 save percentage and 3.34 goals-against average. This is his fourth season in Ottawa.
