Ottawa Senators defenceman Travis Hamonic will not return to Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers after sustaining a lower-body injury.
Over halfway through the first period, Hamonic made a play getting the puck to teammate Austin Watson who then buried it to open the scoring 1-0. However, almost immediately after he passed the puck, Hamonic was hit into the boards by Flyers defenceman Nick Seeler with what looked like knee-on-knee contact.
Hamonic appeared to be in discomfort as he made his way off the ice and down the tunnel to the Senators' locker room.
Ahead of Thursday's matchup, the 32-year-old blue-liner had collected 21 points (six goals and 15 assists) in 74 games.
