Ottawa Senators centre Josh Norris has had shoulder surgery and is out for the rest of the season, coach Jacques Martin told reporters Monday.
Norris was hurt on Feb. 27 against Nashville when he crashed into the net. At that time, the Senators said he would be out for an extended period.
It marks the third surgery for Norris, 24, on his left shoulder. He played just eight games last season.
Norris has six more years on a contract with an annual cap hit of $7.95 million.
Norris had 16 goals and 14 assists in 50 games this season.
Acquired as part of the Erik Karlsson deal with the San Jose Sharks in 2018, Norris has 70 goals and 53 assists for 123 points in 200 career games with Ottawa.
The Sharks picked Norris 19th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
