Ottawa Senators forward Josh Norris is expected to miss at least two weeks with an upper-body injury, the team said Monday.
The Senators added they are waiting for the results of an MRI.
Norris left Saturday's win against the Arizona Coyotes in the third period. Taking a faceoff, Norris went down in a heap before skating to the bench on his own and going straight to the locker room.
Norris, 23, suffered a shoulder injury last season that kept him sidelined for 15 games. Despite this, he led the Senators in goals with 35 in 66 games. He added 20 assists for 55 points.
Veteran Derick Brassard is slated to take Norris' spot on a line with Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux.
Brassard is expected to make his season debut Monday when the Senators host the Dallas Stars.
Goaltender Anton Forsberg may not be available for the Senators' game against the Dallas Stars on Monday. Magnus Hellberg is expected to start in net while Kevin Mandolese has been recalled from AHL affiliate Belleville Senators.
