The Ottawa Senators have placed defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker, defenceman Jacob Larsson, left winger Matthew Highmore and right winger Egor Sokolov on waivers for purposes of assignment following a 3-0 pre-season win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team announced Monday.
Bernard-Docker and Larsson were both first-round draft selections, with the former being selected 26th overall in 2018 by the Senators and the latter getting picked 27th in 2015 by the Anaheim Ducks.
Highmore appeared in two games for the St. Louis Blues in the 2022-23 season and spent the majority of his time for the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds, suiting up for 68 contests.
Sokolov, a second-round pick in 2020, played in five games for the Senators in 2022-23, scoring his first career NHL goal.
The Senators improved to 5-1-0 on the pre-season after the win on Monday. The team opens the 2023-24 season on Oct. 11 on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes.
