The Ottawa Senators have re-signed forward Josh Norris to an eight-year, $63.6 million contract, the team announced Thursday, continuing what has been a monumental off-season in Canada's capital.
“We’re very pleased to come to a long-term agreement with Josh,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion in a statement release by the team.
“He’s a versatile forward who continues to mature into an exceptional NHL player. His scoring prowess has already shown to be a considerable asset for us and one that will help us reach the next level. His dedication and the pride he takes in his physical conditioning will serve as a great example for our next wave of young players.”
Norris played in 66 of the Senators’ 82 regular-season games in 2021-22 and led the team in goals with 35 and ranked third in points with 55, the second consecutive season where he ranked top three in Senators’ scoring.
Enter the 2022-23 season, Norris has appeared in 125 games for the Senators recording 90 points on 52 goals and 38 assists.
