Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto will return from injury on Tuesday to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Pinto missed eight games with an undisclosed injury, but shared on Monday that he is ready to play again.
"I am in," Pinto said after practice on Monday. "It's been a long couple weeks, it feels like, but it's just good to be back."
Senators head coach Travis Green said that Pinto's return is a "possibility."
"That's a good hockey player. Two way guy, big, good on face offs. His game is still on the incline. We've seen spurts where we've seen the kind of player he can be." Green said.
Pinto hasn't played since the Senators' 4-0 victory over the Utah Hockey Club on Oct. 22. Ottawa has gone 3-5 since Pinto's been out, but for games with Pinto playing the Senators have a 4-2 record.
Pinto's return to face the Leafs comes as a perfectly timed birthday present as he turns 24 on Tuesday.
