The Ottawa Senators announced Thursday that they have signed forward Shane Pinto to a three-year entry-level contract. The exact terms of the deal were not released.
Pinto, 20, will report to the Senators after a mandatory seven-day quarantine period.
The forward joins Ottawa after recently finishing his second season with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, where he led the team with 15 goals over 28 games.
“Shane should be very proud of what was an exceptional collegiate career,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion in a team-released statement. “He’s a player with a very high work ethic who demonstrates a strong ability to play effectively in all three zones. He was an elite faceoff performer at UND who possesses a great shot, including a deceptive one timer, and a knack for scoring from both in tight and from a distance.”
Pinto was selected 32nd overall by the Senators back in the 2019 NHL Draft.
