The Ottawa Senators signed defenceman Jorian Donovan to a three-year entry-level contract on Friday.

"He competes hard and will be a defenceman that Hamilton (OHL) leans on in every situation this season. An athletic player who skates well, getting Jorian under contract today is an important step for the future of the organization," said Sens GM Pierre Dorion in a statement.

A fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Donovan helped the Hamilton Bulldogs win the OHL championship and reach the Memorial Cup.

The 18-year-old Richmond, Ont. native picked up 22 points (three goals, 19 assists) in his first OHL regular season and added one goal and two assists during the playoffs.
