The Senators will be without centre Josh Norris for an extended period of time, head coach Jacques Martin announced on Thursday.
Norris, 24, was injured when he crashed into the net during Tuesday's loss against the Predators, prompting him to leave the game.
"I think Norris is probably extended time. I don't really have any more info," said Martin, who replied "too early to know" when asked if the absence would be measured in weeks or months.
While Martin did not specify the nature of the injury, describing it merely as "upper body," Norris played just eight games of the 2022-23 season due to a shoulder injury that eventually required season-ending surgery.
Norris has 16 goals and 30 points in 50 games this season.
Ottawa's next game is on Friday at home against the Arizona Coyotes.
