The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Zach Senyshyn and a 2022 fifth-round pick from the Boston Bruins in exchange for defenceman Josh Brown and a conditional 2022 seventh-round pick.
Should Senyshyn play five NHL games with the Senators before the end of the season, the seventh-round pick will become a sixth-round pick.
Brown, 28, is a pending unrestricted free agent with a $1.2 million cap hit. The six-foot-five defensive defenceman has six assists in 46 games this season.
Senyshyn, an Ottawa native, was drafted 15th overall by the Bruins in 2015. The 24-year-old has only played 14 career NHL games and is currently a pending unrestricted free agent on a one-year, $750,000 deal. This season, he produced 19 goals and 14 assists in 51 games with the AHL's Providence Bruins.
