The Senators will get forward Zack MacEwen back on Saturday for their home opener.
The return of the forward from injury means Ottawa will have a full lineup for its game against the Flyers at 1 p.m. ET.
The Senators dressed only 17 skaters for Wednesday's season opener against the Carolina Hurricanes (which wound up a 5-3 defeat) because MacEwen was injured and the team did not want to place fellow forward Josh Norris on long-term injured reserve in order to free up enough cap space to recall a replacement.
The absence of Norris and Shane Pinto, who remains unsigned, has left the team desperately short of centres. MacEwen's return from an upper-body injury he suffered in the team's final pre-season game will help fill that gap.
The 27-year-old will make his debut with the Senators against one of his former teams, the Philadelphia Flyers.
