San Jose Sharks general manager Mike Grier is getting the band back together.
The Sharks announced they have added five new members to their hockey operations staff, including two of Grier's former teammates in Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek.
Miller will scout draft-eligible goalies for the Sharks, and will also assist in the team's development of goaltenders with the team's director of goaltending, Evgeni Nabokov.
Vanek was brought on as an amateur scout and will scout the Minnesota region for the Sharks.
The Sharks also hired Jack Anderson (Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach), Jaren Burke (Amateur Scout — Ontario) and Igor Eronko (Amateur Scout — Russia).
Grier, Miller and Vanek were all teammates with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2005-06, 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
Miller played 18 seasons in the NHL after being drafted by the Sabres in 1999. He retired as the Sabres' franchise leader in games (540) and wins (284). Miller is the all-time wins leader among U.S. born players.
Vanek had 789 points over 1,029 career NHL games. He was selected fifth overall by the Sabres in the 2003 NHL Draft and had two 40-goal seasons over his 14-year career.
