The San Jose Sharks have agreed to a two-year contract with restricted free agent goalie Adin Hill, avoiding an arbitration hearing.
The deal carries a $2.175-million average annual value, per Sportsnet‘s Elliotte Friedman.
Hill was acquired from the Arizona Coyotes along with a 2022 seventh-round draft pick in a trade for goaltender Josef Korenar and a 2022 second-round pick.
The 25-year-old is expected to compete for the starting role next season with free-agent signing James Reimer. Hill appeared in 19 games for the Coyotes last season, recording a 9-9-1 record with a .913 save percentage and 2.74 goals-against average. He has appeared in 49 games over his career, all with San Jose.
“We’re pleased to get Adin under contract solidifying our goaltending position for the coming season,” general manager Doug Wilson said in a press release.
