San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn was fined $25,000 for his actions in Saturday's loss to the Washington Capitals.
Quinn was ejected from the game early in the third period after an expletive-filled tirade directed toward the officials.
In a statement, the NHL said the fine was the result of "conduct demeaning the officials."
“I’m embarrassed," Quinn said after the game. “You shouldn’t act like that as a coach and I want to apologize to our team. It’s not how I certainly want to act.”
The Capitals won the game 8-3.
