The San Jose Sharks announced that defenceman Mario Ferraro has underwent surgery to repair a lower left fibula fracture on Sunday.
The Sharks added that timelines for such surgeries range from six-to-eight weeks.
Ferraro left the Sharks' 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins in the second period after being pushed in the boards by Taylor Hall. The defenceman picked up two goals and nine assists in 48 games this season.
