The San Jose Sharks have announced they re-signed defenceman Jaycob Megna to a two-year, one-way contract with an AAV of $762.5k, worth $750k next season and $775k in 2023-2024, per NBC's Sheng Peng.
Playing in 44 games with the Sharks, Megna registered eight points with two goals and six assists including six points on one goal and five assists in 14 games in April, placing him second in scoring among Sharks defensemen for the month.
“Jaycob is a reliable player that defends well. He is a high-character person that was recently recognized by Team USA and will be playing for his country at the World Championship,” said San Jose Sharks general manager Joe Will in a statement released by the team.
With the Sharks' AHL affiliate San Jose Barracuda, Megna appeared in 22 games posting 10 points on two goals and eight assists, serving as team captain.
