San Jose signed defenceman Derrick Pouliot to a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000 for the rest of the season, GM Mike Grier announced Thursday.
The 29-year-old was drafted eighth overall by Pittsburgh in the 2012 draft before stints in Vancouver, St. Louis, Vegas and Seattle. He has 52 points in 213 career NHL games.
Pouliot was previously signed to the Sharks' AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda. He has 18 points in 26 games for the Barracuda this year.
After the signing, Pouliot was placed on waivers by the Sharks.
