The San Jose Sharks have signed centre Filip Bystedt to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Monday.
The 19-year-old Swede spent last season with Linkoping HC where he was named the 2022-23 SHL Rookie of the Year. Bystedt picked up 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 45 games.
The centre also represented Sweden at the 2023 World Juniors in Halifax and Moncton. He helped his country reach the bronze medal game, where they lost 8-7 in overtime to the U.S., and collected 10 points (four goals, six assists) in seven games.
Bystedt was selected by the Sharks in the first round, 27th overall, in the 2022 NHL Draft.
