The San Jose Sharks have signed centre Scott Reedy to a two-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, per team policy. He is expected to join the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
The 21-year-old posted 11 goals, 28 points and a plus-20 rating in 28 games with the University of Minnesota this season, setting career highs in all three of those categories. In his collegiate career, Reedy recorded 40 goals, 77 points and a plus-22 rating.
“Scott just capped off a tremendous career at Minnesota, leading the Gophers in goal scoring each of the last two years, and as one of the nation’s youngest seniors he has steadily improved with each season,” Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said in a statement. “His big frame allowed him to play a very important, versatile role and some tough minutes on one of the top teams in college hockey this past season.”
Reedy was selected by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft, 102nd overall.
