The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired forward Michael Eyssimont from the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for forward Vladislav Namestnikov.
Tampa Bay will also retain 50 per cent of Namestnikov's contract. Namestnikov carries a $2.5 million cap hit and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Eyssimont had eight points (three goals and five assists) in 20 games with the Sharks this season after he was claimed off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets in January. The 26-year-old Eyssimont has 13 points in 39 games total during the 2022-23 campaign.
Namestnikov recorded 15 points (six goals and nine assists) in 57 games this season during his second go-round with the Lightning.
Drafted in the first round, 27th overall, by Tampa Bay in 2011, the 30-year-old Namestnikov has 113 goals and 251 points over 10 seasons with the Lightning, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars.
