Carson Soucy will make his Vancouver Canucks debut as the defenceman returns to the lineup against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night after recovering from a lower-body injury.

The 29-year-old sustained a leg injury early in the pre-season that had him sidelined on a week-to-week basis. He was out of the lineup for the first two Canucks games of the season, both wins over the Oilers.

Soucy was acquired in free agency by the Canucks, signing a three-year, $9.75 million contract on July 1.

The Viking, Alta., native played 78 games for the Seattle Kraken last season, potting three goals and 16 points while being plus-18 on the season.

Soucy was selected in the fifth round, 137th overall, by the Minnesota Wild in the 2013 NHL Draft and played parts of three seasons with the team.
