With a win tonight in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final in Edmonton, the Colorado Avalanche can advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2001.
Jared Bednar’s squad took a commanding 3-0 series lead back on Saturday night with a 4-2 victory. Adding to Edmonton’s misery, Evander Kane, the postseason’s leading goal scorer, will not be available to play tonight. On Sunday, the 30-year-old was handed a one-game suspension for his hit in Game 3 on Nazem Kadri.
Now that you’re up to speed, let’s get to some prop bets to consider:
PROP #1: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 Points (-160)
After notching three points in Game 1, the Avs have held the Oilers captain in-check since limiting him to just one point over his past two outings. Translation: McDavid’s due. And with the season on the line, it’s tough to envision the superstar bowing out without some sort of resistance. Watchout.
PROP #2: Mikko Rantanen Over 3.5 SOG (+125)
Through three contests, Rantanen has scored in every game and has notched a total of five points. Most importantly, the Fin has tallied 15 shots on goal so far in the series headlined by an eight-shot explosion in Game 3. Undeniably, his confidence has been growing by the game and with Kadri on the shelf, he’ll need to continue firing that puck. In addition to all that, Rantanen should see some added exposure to Colorado’s big boys moving forward as the Avs begin extended life without Kadri.
PROP #3: Zach Hyman Over 3.5 SOG (-120)
The Kane suspension leaves a gaping hole on the left side up front for the Oilers. Enter Hyman, who undeniably will see some time with Edmonton’s heavy hitters tonight. Through 15 playoff games, the 29-year-old is averaging 4.13 shots per game. With Kane out, the Oilers need their shooters to step up in a big way, especially when McDavid’s looking to dish.
PROP #4: Cale Makar Over 0.5 Assists (-160)
The 23-year-old phenom has 13 assists in 13 playoff games and three in three so far in the series. Makar was held off the scoresheet in Game 3, something that’s happened just four times in these playoffs and just once in back-to-back contests. Bottom line, Makar will be looking to eat tonight.
