Can the Carolina Hurricanes finally win a game away from PNC Arena?
That is the question heading into what could be the final night of action for Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Up 3-2 in the series, the Canes visit the Rangers for Game 6. If Carolina wins, they’re off to the Eastern Conference Final for the second time in four seasons. If New York wins, there will be a Game 7 on Monday night in Raleigh. Remarkably, the Canes are 7-0 at home and 0-5 on the road in these playoffs.
With that in mind, here are some prop bets to look at:
PROP 1: Igor Shesterkin Over 30.5 Saves (-115)
Considering this series has been dominated by strong defence and consistent goaltending, it would be unjust not to include a goalie prop. Enter Igor Shesterkin. All the Vezina frontrunner has done through five games against the Canes is post a ridiculous 1.61 goals-against average and a .949 save-percentage. Furthermore, the Russian phenom has averaged 35 saves a game over his past three outings.
PROP 2: Artemi Panarin Over 0.5 Assists (-120)
Will the real Artemi Panarin please stand up? If the Rangers are going to force a Game 7, they’ll need something offensively from their highest paid player. Through five games against the Canes, Panarin has tallied two measly assists. Overall, he has just one goal in the past nine outings. Also, there’s tons of meat on the Panarin anytime goal bone (+280) if you’re feeling adventurous.
PROP 3: Andrei Svechnikov Over 2.5 SOG (-140)
All things being equal, Svechnikov’s had a very disappointing postseason to-date. That said, the sniper did finally score his first of the series in Game 5. And a big contributor to that is the fact that he’s been shooting the puck a lot more in recent games. In fact, Svechnikov has cleared the 2.5 shot total in three in a row after failing to do so in the previous five outings before that. It feels like he’s starting to cook; We’ll see.
