It’s only fitting that today’s a holiday, because that’s where the Presidents’ Trophy winners could be by this time tomorrow.
With a win on home ice in Game 4 against the Panthers, the Tampa Bay Lightning can sweep away their state rivals and advance to a third consecutive Conference Final. The Bolts took a commanding 3-0 series lead with a 5-1 win on Sunday.
Meantime, Colorado visits St. Louis for Game 4. Back on Saturday night, the Avalanche took a 2-1 series lead with a 5-2 victory. Don’t forget, Jordan Binnington is done for the series with a lower body injury after the Game 3 collision with Nazem Kadri.
Here are some prop bets to consider:
PROP #1: Andrei Vasilevskiy Over 32.5 Saves (-115)
Over the past three seasons, Tampa’s star netminder is 9-0 with a .970 save percentage and five shutouts in potential series clinching games since 2020. Additionally, the 27-year-old has surrendered one goal in four straight outings. For what it’s worth, the Panthers have averaged 35 shots on goal through the first three games of the series. Keep shooting!
PROP #2: Aaron Ekblad Over 2.5 SOG (+100)
After failing to cover this number over the first seven Panther playoff games, Ekblad has now registered three shots on goal in back-to-back games. With Vasilevskiy locked in and Florida’s season on the line, I expect this trend to continue tonight. In 61 regular-season games, the 26-year-old averaged three shots per game.
PROP #3: Ryan O’Reilly Over 0.5 Points (-160) + Over 2.5 SOG (-140)
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s why I’m going back to the well once again with some O’Reilly props tonight. Not only has the Blues captain been held off the scoresheet just once in nine playoff outings so far, but he’s covered the 2.5 number in seven of those contests as well. The 31-year-old looks eager to win another Conn Smythe Trophy.
PROP #4: Devon Toews Over 2.5 SOG (+110)
At plus-money, this play is a must-hit. Toews has cleared the 2.5 number in six of Colorado’s seven games to start the playoffs. On top of that, Samuel Girard is now done for the year, so it’s incumbent on Toews to elevate his game even further. Take a flier.
