The Dallas Stars‘ Blake Comeau and Detroit Red Wings‘ Filip Zadina have been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list, per Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.
They will join the players who are unavailable to play or practice in accordance with the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols.
The Stars make their season debut on Friday night against the Nashville Predators, while the Red Wings are in action against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Players can be unavailable due to COVID-19 protocols as a result of a number of factors, including: an initial positive test, which remains unconfirmed pending another result, mandated isolation for symptomatic individuals, required quarantine as a high-risk close contact, isolation based on a confirmed positive test result and/or quarantine for travel or other reasons.
