Dallas Stars defenceman Miro Heiskanen has been diagnosed with mononucleosis and will be out indefinitely, the team announced Thursday.

He has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to March 2.

Heiskanen has missed the past three games.

The Finnish defenceman has four goals and 25 assists in 52 games this season.

The 22-year-old Heiskanen was picked third overall by Dallas in the 2017 NHL Draft.
