Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill told reporters Monday that Jake Oettinger's lower body injury will be re-evaluated in a week.
However, due to the salary cap, the Stars cannot recall Anton Khudobin and another player will need to come up to the NHL for Dallas.
Oettinger exited with an injury during the second period of the Stars' 6-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Oct. 29.
In the first two weeks of the season Oettinger was one the league’s best goaltenders. He entered Saturday’s matchup against reigning Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin leading the NHL in both save percentage (.960) and goals against average (1.17).
