The Dallas Stars have placed veteran goaltender Anton Khudobin on waivers.
With Jake Oettinger and Braden Holtby primarily manning the crease for Dallas, Khudobin hasn’t played since Nov. 18.
The 35-year-old netminder has a .873 save percentage this season in seven appearances this season. Meanwhile, Holtby has a .923 save percentage in 14 games and 22-year-old Oettinger has a .951 save percentage in seven.
In the 2020 playoffs, Khudobin was instrumental in Dallas’ run to the Stanley Cup final as the starting goaltender with Ben Bishop out.
Stars general manager announced Sunday that Bishop, who’s been recovering from a knee injury, has reached the end of his playing days.
Khudobin is in the second year of a three-year, $10-million deal. The Stars, who have multiple players out due to illness and injuries, will be relieved $1.125 million in cap space if he clears.
