The Dallas Stars have recalled goalie Matt Murray from AHL Texas under the roster emergency exception rule, the team announced Monday.
The Stars are missing top goaltender Jake Oettinger, who suffered a lower-body injury on Friday against the Ottawa Senators. The Stars said Monday that Oettinger is week to week.
Local St. Louis goalie Joseph O'Brien was the emergency backup to Scott Wedgewood in the Stars' 4-3 overtime loss against the Blues on Saturday.
The undrafted Murray, 25, is 8-4-1 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .908 save percentage this season for Texas. He made his NHL debut last season, playing three games for Dallas.
The Stars host the Seattle Kraken on Monday.
