The Dallas Stars have signed forward Evgenii Dadonov to a two-year extension worth $4.5 million, the team announced on Tuesday.
Dadonov's contract carries a $2.25 million AAV, and will keep the forward in Dallas through his age-35 season. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The Russian native was acquired by the Stars from the Montreal Canadiens at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline in exchange for Dennis Gurianov and enjoyed a resurgence in production upon his arrival while serving as a supplementary depth piece.
"Re-signing Evgenii was high on our priority list," Stars GM Jim Nill said via release. "He was a key player for us down the stretch, and he elevated his game on the big stage during the playoffs. We're happy to get a deal done that works for both sides."
Dadonov recorded 15 points in 23 games, as well as 10 points in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Stars, finishing his season with seven goals and 33 points in 73 games.
